我们的英语刘老师多次强调：学英语，背诵课文，默写单词是重点。熟练地背诵课文，有助于理解、记忆其中的语法、结构。我也一直在按照刘老师的要求去实践。
也许因为我是英语课代表的缘故，刘老师对我充分信任，每次抽查英语课文背诵，都没有我的名字。以致于我对背默这项任务渐渐松懈下来。在前晚的背默任务上，我只简单的记忆了一遍课文，不太注重课文中所涉及的语法，这是在象征性的应付背默作业。
周五的英语课堂上，刘老师按照惯例抽查课文背诵情况，当我正在慌张的记忆时，刘老师突然点到了我的名字“白玉容，youplease”。我大吃一惊，但顾不了去想老师抽查我的原因了。只好抱着最后一线希望，背诵前瞟一眼课文生疏的地方。接着，就开始用缓慢的中速语调，凭着自己脑海中的记忆去背诵。在我快要因不熟练而停顿背诵之前，刘老师提前让我停止了背诵。转而继续抽查其他的同学。
这次抽查，我紧张的心情久久不能平静。老师每次布置的背默任务，都是为了让我们更好地掌握课文和语法知识，这样在考试时就能够“完美发挥”。看来，以后的背默作业，可不能像这次一样滥竽充数了呀！
